Introduction
Everything starts with creating a vision and working together toward a common goal. The purpose of the vision statement is to point staff toward a meaningful target if it is expected for them to achieve a goal. Leaders must first see the vision of what they want the team to achieve in order to help everyone else see it. A nurse leader is charged with painting the big picture for his or her staff, making sure the right people are in the nursing roles, and modeling the behavior that is desired of others.
