Problem Statement on case Courtney Graham
The patient is an 18-month-old female who presents with her mother after experiencing vomiting and diarrhea for two days. Vomiting has occurred 3-4 times daily, and diarrhea 3-5 times. Mom denied fevers, blood in vomit, or stool. Mom endorses a lack of appetite and decreased wet diapers in the last two days. The physical exam revealed capillary refill less than 3 seconds and no drainage from the ear or eyes. Genital and rectal exams are unremarkable. The abdomen is soft and non-tender. Risk factors include daycare attendance and a sister who was sick with the same symptoms last week.
