Problem Statement on case Nick Roberts
The patient is a 2-year-old male who presents to the clinic accompanied by his mother for complaints of a runny nose and cough with onset two days ago. He was sent home from daycare yesterday with a fever that was as high as 101. She reports he is fussy with a decreased appetite. Today the patient presents with a fever of 102.2. The physical exam revealed erythema and bulging of bilateral tympanic membranes. Risk factors include daycare attendance, parental smoking, not getting the flu vaccine, and male gender.
