West Chester Private School
The illustrious West Chester Private School established itself as a leading K-12 school thanks in part to its extensive curriculum and family-first culture. Founded by the Chandler and Gilbert families in 1944. The reputation for high academic achievement grew more and more over time leading to increased enrollment and the opening of multiple schools in the Phoenix area. The school initially maintained its reputation following the sale of the school to the Education Management Services (EMS) in 2004, the school had massive changes for both parents and students. Under new management, they were looking to expand schools into Southern California but failed. Even with that failure, they were some positives being that they were able to start an International Baccalaureate Program that very next year. The school was forced to shut down two of its locations due to poor enrollment numbers. Following that WestChester Private School struggled to stay open due to even more scrutiny from rival schools and the outbreak of the Coronavirus. This essay will further explain if WCPS was able to truly implement its open and sophisticated systems or if it was used effectively. Furthermore, we will identify the moral code and understanding of how that affected the staff, parents, and students and see if we can come up with some alternative ways that might’ve worked out differently. Lastly, we will give long and short-term recommendations for any future goals.
