West Coast Transit
The West Coast Transit Company (WCT) is a small charter airline that began in 2005, being customer focused they recognized a need for providing short and affordable and flights from California to surrounding states. and within a year the company grew threefold. WCT is renowned for their employee-centered culture by offering benefits, salaries, and advancement opportunities which led to a positive impact on their customers. However, there are complaints from the employees, stating that the company has too much work, too little employees, and not enough time to complete projects (Oke, n.d.). As part of a marketing project, discussions of effective team management will be explored, focusing on the stages of group formation, behavioral roles, effective communication, conflicts, conflict management, leadership, and motivational theories.
Effective Teams
Effective teams are based on three criteria which are team performance, member satisfaction, and viability in the future. First, performance is based on the timeliness teams can convert input of data, ideas, and materials into output of reports, products, or services. Second is satisfaction which focuses on the members appreciation of the team, their accomplishments, member happiness. Lastly, team future viability is based on the team’s cohesiveness and the ability to successfully work together in the future (Uhl-Bien et al., 2021a).
According to these three criteria, the WCT group is not an effective team and will require extra effort from their members to complete the assigned tasks and goals.
