Target Staffing and Compensation Plan Introduction

Target is a general merchandiser that operates in all states within the United States. We have about 500,000 employees (Corporate Target, n.d.). The size and structure of our organization requires us to develop a good staffing and compensation plan. This is the staffing and compensation plan for Target. The purpose of the staffing plan is to outline the staffing estimates, acquisition strategy, training plan, and employee roles and responsibilities at the company. The plan describes the needs that would lead to hiring and retaining employees at Target. The plan describes the relationship of employees in terms of their responsibilities. It outlines the internal and environmental factors that the company considers when hiring and retaining employees and identifies factors that determine staffing needs. It also describes the processes that individuals undergo during the hiring process and when employed by the company. It describes factors to be considered when compensating employees and additional compensation based on performance. The plan also explains benefits that employees enjoy.

Staffing Needs of Target

 

Target hires employees based on their needs. The company considers its goals and objective when considering bringing in new employees and retaining them as well. The needs and objectives are broken down into roles and responsibilities for each position (Kline, 2021). An employee shall be hired to fill the position by meeting the professional, academic, and experience requirements for every position.
