72 y.o. White male with PMH of HTN, COPD, OA, and Hyperlipidemia presented with a mole on the right shoulder that has changed in appearance and texture over the past several months. He reports it is rough and gets caught on his clothing and is "annoying". Denies pain or itching at the site. Hx of prolonged sun exposure and frequent sunburns due to occupation and extensive 80 pack-year smoking history. Spends several hours per day outside gardening. Presents with Fitzgerald type Ii skin with dark brown, slightly elevated skin lesion with irregular and asymmetric borders, < 6mm.
Dermatoscopy reveals fissures, ridges, and comedo-like openings. Multiple, scattered freckles and small moles (<0.5cm) over skin surfaces.
