- $20.00
A.W. is a 23 y/o female who presents to the clinic with sore throat, bilateral cervical lymphadenopathy, fever, mild, dull headache, and difficulty swallowing x 2 days. She states pain in her throat is like "an ice pick" and rates it at an 11 on the numeric 1-10 scale. Her physical exam reveals erythematous, enlarged tonsils with exudates and posterior pharyngeal erythema. Her cervical lymphadenopathy finds 1.5 cm, rubbery, mobile nodes tender to the tough. She has had recent exposure to an unknown infectious source in the form of her roommate. She has received some relief with OTC Tylenol and cold ice cream. Suspected Group A Streptococcal Pharyngitis is the diagnosis.
