Week 1 Main Post As the world of medicine continuously evolves, many registered nurses decide to further their education for increased salary, knowledge base and job growth. Some career paths an RN may choose include certified registered nurse practitioner (CRNP), physician assistant (PA) and certified nurse midwife (CNM). Each path has varying roles within the community, but all three paths have relatively the same educational path of approximately 3 years (Kaple, 2021). In the state of Maryland, CRNP’s may practice autonomously whereas PA’s practice under the supervision of a physician (ANA, n.d.). This however may be opposite in other states.
