For my last semester, my preceptor and I agreed some of my strengths were my communication skills and ability to build rapport with my patients. This is an important skill to hone because in psychiatric clinical setting, building rapport with a patient is the main foundation of helping develop an appropriate diagnosis for a patient. Proper communication with our patients is one of the key components of building rapport with patients. There is always room for improvement in learning different psychotherapies available for patients.
