Pharmacotherapy for Cardiovascular disorders
Even though cardiovascular disease is the most common disease that is prevalent in adults’ patients in the United States, studies have shown that, the mortality rate for cardiovascular disease have declined over the past decades (Tajeu et al., 2020). The majority of patients who present with the symptoms can be attributed to both cardiovascular disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (Laureate Education, 2009) which account to the reasons why one patient is receiving multiple drugs. Cardiovascular disease is preventable, and can be treated if only early signs are detected and prompt interventions are taken. Diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia are risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease, however, with improved treatments, the risks can be efficiently managed, thus decreasing the chances of CVA (Boehme et al., 2017). This paper seeks to explain the factors affecting pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic process, describe how changes in the process might impact drug therapy, and strategies for the improvement of drug therapy plan....... continue
