Personal Worldview Inventory
The term of spirituality can mean something different for each individual. It is a connection to something that a person views bigger than themselves and gives a meaning to life. There are several concepts of spirituality that coexist together in a society. One concept is people can coexist within a society that have different beliefs but maintain cultural differences which is known as pluralism religion. Another is scientism religion that involves a scientific method view that has no limits that can is applied to all aspects of life and provides explanation for everything. Last is postmodernism which is a belief that says an absolute truth doesn’t exist because the society is constantly changing and individuals of this practice may draw on diverse religious beliefs in order to incorporate them into their own religious view. Regardless of which concept one may favor, spirituality influences an individual’s worldview greatly and there are seven basic worldview questions that one may answer to better understand one’s own world view.
What is prime reality?
Most people would answer god to this question, my prime reality is the now. I like hard concrete truth and evidence most of the time. My belief is that there is a positive and negative energy or a good and evil. When life gets hard, I find myself praying to a higher power for hope a faith even though I don’t go to church or practice it on a daily basis. My family was raised catholic so I lean on some of the things they have taught me when I am in need. There is a strong sense of combination of pluralism, scientism, and post modernism concepts in my prime reality views.......... Continue
