Samantha is an 18-month-old AA female who presents to clinic with her mother with complaints of vomiting and diarrhea for two days. Her oral intake is decreased. She normally has 5-6 wet diapers per day, but it has decreased to 4. She normally has 2 formed stools per day, but she has 3-4 loose watery stools daily. Mom denies coffee-ground or bloody stool. She is vomiting 4-5 times per day. Her vomit consists of milk and partially digested food. She is drinking Pedialyte and milk. She drinks 12-15oz of whole milk per day. She had a sick sibling last week who had similar symptoms, but the symptoms resolved after two days. She does attend daycare, but the teacher denies any classmates being sick. Denies fevers.
