Throughout the Walden University’s Family Nurse Practitioner program, I have had the opportunity to complete a total of four Clinical Skills and Procedures Self- Assessment forms. The first time I filled out the form, I thought in my head that it was a waste of time. Little did I know that I would grow to appreciate the form and utilize it as a tool throughout the practicum. I was able to utilize the forms during clinical as a form of communication between my preceptor and I. My preceptors were helpful because when one of their colleagues were performing a task that I have not seen before, they would let me observe so I was able to increase my knowledge and experiences. Kusnoor & Stelljes (2016) states that through shadowing, students achieve several interprofessional education core competencies and a broader perspective on patient care with shadowing being an effective pedagogical method for interprofessional education in the pre-clerkship curriculum………..
